Over 70 years of service comes from honesty and integrity! A.R. Brenneman knew he wanted to be in the hardwood lumber business. But in 1932, how do you get started? The answer was hard work, honesty and integrity. This has continued on to the current owner, Doug Brenneman, nephew of the company founder, and his three children. Doug purchased the company and moved the business to it's present location in Mount Vernon Ohio, USA. Today, Brenneman Lumber has grown to be one of the larger wholesale firms in the United States. We now broker between 40 - 45 million board feet (94,300 - 106,000 m3) of green and kiln dried lumber annually.





COMMUNITY ORIENTED

Brenneman Lumber not only believes in taking care of it's customers, but it's community as well. Brenneman Lumber and it's employees not only contribute financially but also volunteers for youth such as YMCA, youth sports, 4-H, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and church youth groups. Employees are also involved with civic organizations such as Kiwanis, Masonic Lodge, and Salvation Army. Doug Brenneman, President, was voted Volunteer of the Year for Mount Vernon in 1997. And Brenneman Lumber Company was selected as the Small Business of the Year by the Mount Vernon/Knox County Area Chamber of Commerce in 1997.

Brenneman Lumber Company is now a fourth generation company with the addition of all three of Doug's children and two of his grandchildren (four more grandchildren are waiting in line!) joining the company. The Brenneman Family intends on being in the lumber business for a long time to come!
